Thor's fishing trip
Several years ago the USS Odyssey with SG-1 and General Landry where called to the Asgard homeworld. As the story goes the Asgard had inadvertently created a plague when trying to correct their cloning process. After seeing the conflict created by the Atlantians left over technology the Asgard destroyed their planet killing themselves in the process after giving earth their entire database of knowledge.
